MEET SOOLIP CREATIVE ARTS WORKSHOP INSTRUCTOR SIMONE WEN FORSBERG

Simone Forsberg | Soolip Creative Arts Workshops | Photo Journals | Creative life

Meet Simone Wen Forsberg. Simone is bringing her gift for creating photo journals to the workshops this season on November 23. See more about Photo Journal Book Making — A Time Capsule.

Simone Wen Forsberg embodies the art of mindful reflection. “I am nostalgic by nature,” she says. “I love to reflect on where I have been and what has led me to where I am today.” This deep-rooted sense of time had led her to document life’s fleeting moments since she was a child. Her journey into photo journaling began when she was 3 years old with her first journal entry. By the age of seven, she was crafting her own photo albums, a practice lovingly introduced by her mother, Wanda Wen, who remains her biggest inspiration to this day.

For Simone, photo journaling is more than just an artistic hobby; it’s a way to revisit herself and her experiences over time. Every time she opens an album or journal, she finds herself transported back, savoring the memories and emotions preserved within. This practice has become an integral part of her life, offering her a platform for self-actualization, storytelling, and gratitude. She speaks of photo journals as time capsules, capturing the essence of a moment in life. Through a blend of photos, words, and other ephemera, Simone captures the feeling of a moment—like a dried flower pressed into the pages of time.

Her workshop is an antidote to the fast pace of life, offering students the chance to slow down, savor the moments and memories of their lives and find calm in this soulful art form.

Simone’s passion for photo journaling invites us all to pause, reflect, and preserve the beauty in the journey of our lives. It’s more than just memory-keeping—it’s time travel for the soul.
