We are proud to introduce jewelry by budding artist, Madeleine Lavender. Lavender’s sensibility of recognizing the beauty in stones, carefully selecting those that speak to her, and then elevating their existence with carefully-placed, melee diamonds results in personal accessory pieces that celebrate the miracle of nature.
Lavender’s passion for jewelry began at the tender age of 7, creating crystal bracelets for a local Los Angeles boutique. By 13 years old, she found herself sketching jewelry pieces in the margins of her class notes. Her jewelry line matured as she grew into her teenage years, to becoming a full collection of semi-precious necklaces, bracelets and earrings. In 2005, Teen Vogue recognized her as a featured “Young Designer”, and suddenly her pieces were found in trendy boutiques such as Fred Segal and Madison.
Now living in San Francisco, Lavender felt the calling to create jewelry once again. After a summer of hikes through the misty fog of the Northern California coast and the golden hills and steamy hot springs of Napa Valley and Big Sur, Lavender was inspired by the natural beauty of the Bay Area, and began collecting unique beach pebbles along the coast of Marin. She lovingly creates pieces that combine the imperfect beauty of natural objects with simple, delicate and organic design. Lavender sources all of her materials locally, and designs and builds each of her pieces by hand in San Francisco.
