Japanese Chiyogami
Luscious, vibrantly-colored Chiyogami papers are hand-printed using the silk-screen technique. In this laborious process each color is applied using a separate screen. Sometimes as many as 12 colors, including gold or other metallics, may be used to create a single pattern. Because we source chiyogami from different studios, the full paper size may vary, but the patterned area is always 24 x 36” surrounded by an unprinted border on all sides.
